it's that time of year again

It's that time of year again when August comes up, and school supplies are on shelves. Commercials on TV are all about the "new trend for back to school outfits." And when school activities are all of a sudden being written on our calendars. Sometimes I wish I could just go back in time, and go back to the beginning of June when school just gets out, and the pools just begin to open. When all the teenagers are so eager to come home from school and burn their papers in a bonfire, because there is no use to keeping them. When it just starts to warm up outside, and it's time for vacations. Don't you wish you could go back to that?

Now that it's mid-August, that means last minute school supplies shopping, and finding new outfits for the new school year. So when September 6th rolls around everyone will be ready to set their alarms, and head for the bus stop.

September is a pretty important month for me. It's when volleyball starts up again, it's when I become an eighth grader, and it's when I turn one year older, and hit that big 14. September is when I go to Duluth with family, and celebrate lots of birthdays. It's when all of a sudden I get hit with lots of homework, tests, and projects. It's when I need to go to bed earlier, because I know the next day is going to be jam-packed with school and activities.

But, I think I'm ready for that. I'm ready to see all my friends that I haven't seen for three months, and meet my new teachers, and start wearing my new clothes. I'm ready to get out my brand new pencils, and start learning some new things in my last year of middle school.

What about you? Are you excited for school to start up again?

P.S. Make sure you've entered..here!

  1. I'm always excited for school but this year is a little nervous excited because in my school we have Pre-School through 12th grade in one building and Pre-School through 6th is downstairs and 7-12th is upstairs so this year, going into 7th grade will be different classrooms and different teachers. plus lockers for the first time.

  2. School... Well, since I'm homeschooled we have been kinda doing school through the summer, but at a much more relaxed rate.
It will be different for me though, being a freshman in HS and all. (!!!) only four years left!!

  4. I'm pretty excited for the school year. I think 7th grade is going to be an awesome year because this year my class gets to act and sing solos in the plays and we are officially the "older kids" :) and I'll be a teenager this year!!!
